How you can help
Do you enjoy this site? Like seeing newly-recovered teletext editions of Digitiser in the archive? Want to help support this work?
Then, if you can, please do...
Or if you're a teletext recoverer in need of tapes to process, get in touch and I'll happily dip into the reserves and send you some to work on.
Background
Since the miracle of teletext recovery was discovered, Digitiser fans, technology enthusiasts, and archivists alike have been racing to recover as much broadcast Digitiser teletext material as humanly possible. The sum total of everything that's been discovered can be found in Super Page 58's Digitiser Vault archive.
With more and more material being unearthed, it's becoming increasingly difficult to find editions of Digitiser that aren't in the archive - so Super Page 58 has taken the decision to acquire and store a collection of 2,000 VHS cassette tapes that it was offered, in the hope of filling in the remaining gaps in the archive.
Two thousand tapes takes up a lot of space - the kind of space that requires renting a storage unit to safely keep them in until they can be processed by recovery heroes. Renting this unit costs around £71 per month (correct as of May 2025), and judging by recovery rates, the space is likely to be needed well into the 2030s.
If you'd like to help cover the costs of this project - first of all, thank you so much for your kind generosity - you can do so via the Super Page 58 Ko-fi account.
In the miraculous event that you want to contribute more than the standard £5 Ko-fi donation - first of all, WOW, you have no idea how grateful I am - and second of all, are you totally sure? - then please get in touch with the site by emailing superpage58@gmail.com so I can shake your virtual hand with profuse gratitude, and we can figure out the best way to go about this.
Contributions of all sizes are welcome and appreciated more than I can describe here. All donations will be used to cover the cost of the storage unit, and then general site running costs. No profit will be made.
With your help, together we can get closer to the site's ultimate aim of archiving 100% of all broadcast Digitiser.
OK, maybe that's unrealistic - we'll settle for 99%.
Huge thanks to the generous souls who have already contributed to this noble cause.
Thanks for reading, and for all of your support over the years - financial or otherwise.
